AWARD-WINNING DOCUMENTARY TO BE SCREENED AT MURRAY STATE

Murray --- The Kentucky Fairness Alliance and the Murray State University Alliance proudly announce an on-campus screening of Dan Karslake’s documentary, “For the Bible Tells Me So,” Tuesday, January 22, 7:30 p.m., at the Murray State University Curris Center Theatre.

The film, a Grand Jury Prize winner at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, profiles five very normal, Christian, American families – including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson. Through their stories, we discover how people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child or family member. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, “For the Bible Tells Me So” offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.
