Peggy Pittman-Munke
Murray

Peggy Pittman-Munke is Associate Professor of Social Work and Interim Program Director at Murray State University (MSU).  In addition to classroom instruction, her responsibilities include advising, curriculum revisions, and monitoring accreditation standards.  She is serving her third term as President of the Kentucky Coalition of Faculty Senate Leadership. She was recently re-elected to a second term as President of the MSU Faculty Senate and was the 2010-2011 recipient of the MSU President’s Award for Diversity and Inclusion.  Her career includes service to: Texas A & M International University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Tulane University, Concordia College, and the Worden School at Our Lady of the Lake University.  Outside academics, Peggy is actively involved in the community.  She is a former Board member for United Way and CASA of Calloway and Marshall County, KY. Currently, she is a current Board member for CASA of Kentucky.  With a strong passion for diversity issues, she joined the Board of Kentucky Fairness Alliance in 2011.

It reflects the idea that no one individual, legislator, organization, or city can carry all the water for equality. Our success lies in our solidarity.
